This change, aimed at easing congestion during peak trekking seasons, will require travelers to drive about 4-5 hours from Kathmandu to Ramechhap. Flights from Ramechhap to Lukla take around 20 minutes, and passengers are advised to plan accordingly, departing Kathmandu in the early morning or staying overnight in Ramechhap to avoid disruptions to their schedule.

Yes, you will visit Gokyo Lakes, Cho La Pass, and Everest Base Camp on this itinerary. This is a combined route that connects all 3 popular places in Khumbu valley. The itinerary can be customized to either a clockwise or anti-clockwise program depending on your interests within the same duration. The cost will remain the same as long as the total duration of the tour is the same.
Mid-March to the end of May and the end of September to late November is considered the best time to visit Gokyo and Everest Base Camp area. The views are eye-catching and mostly clear during the peak seasons. The months of June, July, and August are monsoon months that are not considered the perfect time for this trek. In addition, the months of December, January, and February are winter months are Chola Pass may get inaccessible due to high snow levels.
Even though it is possible to schedule Gokyo EBC Trek throughout the year, it's always recommended to plan during the peak season to get the best experience.
This is one of the best adventurous trekking in Nepal that spends nearly a week around 5000 meters and also involves an above 5000 meters high altitude pass crossing. The trek is doable by novice trekkers with above-average physical fitness levels, it's best for trekkers with previous trekking experiences. This is a moderate to difficult level trekking suitable for adventurers.
The trek offers excellent views of the Himalayas, centuries-old Monasteries, Yeti (Snowman Ape), thundering rivers, towering waterfalls, remote villages, rich Sherpa culture, a breathtaking flight to Lukla airport, and a beautiful trekking experience. It's such an incredible journey suitable for adventure seekers.
Gokyo EBC Trekking also known as the Chola Pass Trekking is a moderate to difficult level trekking where you will be spending about a week around 5000 meters. This trekking can be done by novice trekkers with above-average fitness levels but is suitable for trekkers with previous trekking. This program is an incredible circular trek that is sure to inspire you throughout the trek.
Especially the days above 4000 meters are going to be difficult due to low Oxygen levels. Rest, acclimatization, and snow ascent are going to help you to complete the journey successfully. Even though the trail itself isn't that hard, the high altitude makes it tiring.
The 14 days journey will cost approximately USD 1200 plus. The cost of the trek differs based on the quality of the lodges, meals eaten, and optional items such as internet, battery charging, hot showers, snacks, drinks, etc. Our base prices are inclusive of accommodation in Kathmandu, domestic flights including for the guide, all required permits, guides, meals and accommodation on the trek, airport transfers, etc. The costs are varied based on what is included and what is not included.
No, it's not possible to carry Oxygen on the trek. It's not possible for various reasons such as logistics and providing reasonable costs to the clients. Villages above 4000 meters have Oxygen cylinders available for emergency use. As per our experience, 99.99% of customers didn't need Oxygen and few who needed got their Oxygen supplied by the lodges locally.
Yes, our packages included return domestic flights to Lukla. The flights are usually from Kathmandu but in recent years Kathmandu - Lukla flights are rerouted from Ramechhap Airport during the peak season (March - April and October - November). We will still arrange transfers to Ramechhap Airport in such cases. The total duration of the tour will be the same regardless of the airport we fly from. Please note that a person is allowed to carry only 15 kilos weight (including hand carry) on their Lukla flights. It's recommended to keep their weight low and excess weight costs approximately USD 1 per additional kilogram.
